after care

Blot and Balm After care:

  • Immediately after the microblading procedure allow for eyebrows to breath for 1 hour- Do not touch your eyebrows during the healing process.

  • Day of treatment: Lightly blot eyebrows with a cool damp Kleenex/towel/cloth and apply a rice kernel size of the balming ointment with a q-tip or clean finger to each eyebrow every hour. Maintain a thin layer of hydration.

  • Day two- blot they eyebrows and apply balm in the morning.  Apply balm at least 4 times throughout the day keeping  the brows hydrated.

  • Day three and on: For the remainder of your healing apply balm 2 to 3 times daily but no blotting is necessary. Apply balm when you feel like the brows are drying out.

  • Tenth-Twelfth Day: At about day 10 to 12, apply a thick layer of balm or coconut oil. Take a hot shower and allow the oil/balm to condition the skin. Remove any excess pigment and dead skin with Q-tip by gently rubbing.

  • Final Healing Day: At this point, your brows will appear very light in color. The true color will reappear in 4 to 5 weeks. The true color will be 30% to 50% lighter than the initial day color.

What to expect:

  • After the procedure, it is natural for some swelling and discomfort to occur. Apply an ice pack for about 10 minutes to bring some relief.

  • The eyebrows will appear bolder and darker in color with a more defined shape a few hours after the procedure. These results are attributed to the healing process and can last between 3-5 days.

  • There should be minimal scabbing and/or flaking of the skin. Absolutely no rubbing, picking, wiping, scratching, or cleansing for the next two weeks. Allow dry skin to come off on its own.  If brows feel itchy, tap the brows gently.

  • The complete healing process takes about 6-8 weeks. During this time your tattoo will soften and lighten, as your skin is regenerating and naturally exfoliating.  Wait at least 6 weeks to see the true color.

  • During the 6-8 week healing process you may also see that some strokes may have disappeared complete and holes are now visible. Color adjustments and touch-ups to reinforce hair strokes will happen at your perfecting session.

Things to Avoid:

  • Avoid any kind of water activities or physical activities that causes vigorous sweating for the next 5 to 7 days to ensure the pigment remains planted in epidermis. If wet, blot dry.

  • Scabbing may occur 3-5 days after procedure. DO NOT pick, rub, wipe, scratch at the scabs. Let the dry skin fall off naturally or some of the pigment will be removed.

  • DO NOT use any cosmetics over area while healing. Once the scabbing stops, you can use makeup.

  • DO NOT expose to sun or tanning bed during healing period.

  • DO NOT swim in fresh, salt, chlorinated water for 2 weeks.

  • AVOID strenuous activity for 2 days.

  • IMPORTANT: Failure to follow post-procedure after care may cause loss of pigment, discoloration, or infection.
